Our Story

Authenticwholesa was born from a simple belief: everyone deserves a space to explore their creativity without judgment. Founded in the heart of Portland's vibrant Alberta Arts District, our studio has become a sanctuary for makers, dreamers, and creative souls of all backgrounds.

What started as informal gatherings among friends who loved cutting, arranging, and creating visual stories has grown into a welcoming community of collage and mood board enthusiasts. We opened our doors to share the joy of hands-on artistic expression with anyone curious enough to try.

Our Mission

To nurture creativity and self-expression through accessible, inspiring workshop experiences that leave participants with both artwork and artistic confidence.

What Makes Us Different

Our approach to creative workshops

Inclusive Environment

No experience necessary. We welcome complete beginners alongside practiced artists. Everyone creates something beautiful.

Hands-On Learning

Less lecture, more doing. We believe the best way to learn is by creating, experimenting, and playing with materials.

Quality Materials

We curate premium papers, vintage magazines, and professional supplies so you can focus purely on creating.

Our Values

Principles that guide everything we do

Creativity Without Pressure

Art should feel liberating, not stressful. Our workshops emphasize process over perfection and encourage experimentation without fear.

Community Connection

Creating alongside others adds magic to the experience. We foster connections between participants who share a love for visual expression.

Sustainable Practices

We prioritize recycled and vintage materials, giving new life to magazines, papers, and ephemera that might otherwise be discarded.

Accessible Art

Art belongs to everyone. We strive to make our workshops welcoming, affordable, and available to diverse community members.
